I've always been interested in record collecting, born out of my love of following the UK charts in the 1970s. It is a drive that has taken me all over the world. For work I've been lucky to visit over 80 countries, and whenever I had a free moment would hunt down records in small shops hidden down narrow lanes or visit second hand markets in dusty city centres in far flung places such as Thailand, Angola, Jamaica, Turkey, India or Singapore. Often taking risks in the process.

And it's a passion I still have to this day. The thrill is hunting for and finally finding that record I've been missing for ages. And getting to hold it, turn it over in my hands, smell it, check it for damage, read the label to devour any new nugget of information, and imagine it back home taking up its rightful place in my collection.

But of course it has led to collecting many duplicates, or records, that would find a much better home in your collection.
